Overview

The City of Hamilton Building Division's two-page applicable law checklist, dated April 4, 2024, marked by staff at permit intake and again at permit review. It groups outside approvals in two stages: prior to permit application, covering site plan, the Ontario Heritage Act, source water protection, the Niagara Escarpment Commission, conservation authorities, the Ministry of Transportation and Metrolinx; and prior to permit issuance, covering subdivision agreements, zoning conformance, Committee of Adjustment decisions, water and sewer permits, encroachments, development charges and provincial and federal matters. Each line names its agency contact.
