The City of Richmond Hill's Tree Preservation By-law, passed as By-law 19-25 under section 135 of the Municipal Act, 2001. Its own text repeals the earlier By-law 41-07. It covers trees with a trunk diameter over 15 centimetres, including dead, dying or hazardous trees, and sets exemption and retrospective permit paths, application requirements, and criteria the tree preservation by-law officer considers, among them species, condition, location and cultural heritage value. It exempts trees already addressed through the corporation's site alteration by-law, also collected in this batch. Passed April 23, 2025.
