Overview

The City of Hamilton's By-law No. 15-058 under the Building Code Act, 1992 respecting permits and related matters, consolidated to January 31, 2025 with amendments 15-189 to 25-008. It covers permits, plans and specifications, fees and refunds, permit revocation and transfer, notices, construction-site fencing and registered code agencies. Schedule A tables the service index per square metre for each occupancy group; later schedules set refunds, surcharges for work begun without a permit, the plans and documents listed per building type, and a code of conduct for building officials.
