Overview

City of Hamilton By-law 10-142, the Fence By-law, in an office consolidation with amending By-laws 10-315 and 11-230. Passed in June 2010, it repealed the fence by-laws of the former Ancaster, Dundas, Flamborough and Stoney Creek. It defines fences, corner and driveway visibility triangles and height, then sets fence heights by zone, on decks and near front lot lines, a Ward 12 deer-fence extension, and rules on sheet metal, barbed wire and electric fences. It records that zoning by-laws and the Swimming Pool Enclosure By-law prevail where they conflict.
