Overview

The City of Hamilton's Neighbourhood Infill Design Guidelines, February 2024, for small-scale multiplex infill: triplexes and fourplexes in Low Density Residential Zones, and fiveplexes and sixplexes proposed through a Zoning By-law Amendment. It sets them in the Urban Hamilton Official Plan's intensification policies and the City's additional dwelling unit and converted dwelling permissions, then gives illustrated, numbered guidelines for site design, from landscaping and fencing to parking and waste, and for built form: massing, height transition, setbacks and façades. They inform Minor Variance and rezoning evaluation.
