Overview

The City of Hamilton's Sewer Design Criteria, a Public Works – Engineering Services manual on the design of sanitary sewers, storm sewers, combined sewers and forcemains for City capital work and for infrastructure the City assumes. Its revision history runs from a first draft in 2023 to a revised final version on October 30, 2025, and its preface places it beside the Watermain Design Criteria and the Comprehensive Development Guidelines and Financial Policies Manual. Chapters run from the regulatory framework through maintenance holes, catch basins and inverted siphons to references.
