Overview

The City of Hamilton's Roundabout Landscape Design Guideline of May 2026, for planning and designing landscape treatments at roundabouts while keeping sight lines clear. It defines planting zones, control zones for circulatory road, entry and approach sight lines, and enhancement zones, sets a vertical growth envelope, and gives plant selection and design considerations for the central island, splitter islands, approaches and perimeter. It closes with the development approval process, submission, construction review and asset handover, a recommended planting list and tree spacing tables.
