Overview

Urban design guidelines for Block 16 on Pier 8 (65 Guise Street) in Hamilton's West Harbour, dated July 2021. After a settlement of appeals to the 2017 Pier 8 approvals, the City studied a mid-rise or high-rise building on the former institutional block; these guidelines, an addendum to the Pier 7 + 8 Urban Design Study (2016), set its site organization, public realm interface, residential and sustainability guidance, mid-rise and tall building massing envelopes, implementation, demonstration plans, shadow studies and an urban design checklist.
