Overview

The Gore Standard: Hardscape Design, prepared for the City of Hamilton by The MBTW Group and dated February 1, 2019, records the pavement surfaces and treatments used in the Gore Pedestrianization Initiative on King Street East and sets them out as guidelines for future streetscape and pedestrianization projects, including the LRT B-Line corridor. It covers four design principles, Urban Braille, crosswalks, the vehicular zone and lay-by parking zones, with appendix details for saw-cut concrete finishes, granite pavers, trench drains and the limits where the standard applies.
