Overview

The City of Hamilton Public Works Department, Transportation Division's criteria for judging whether an HSR bus stop is accessible, dated January 2014 and printed as Appendix "A". Ten numbered criteria cover the urban road cross section, a 9 m by 2.5 m landing pad with a ramp deployment and loading area, pathway clearways, curb cuts, a 2% cross slope, barriers at slopes and ditches, shelter connections, 2.1 m vertical clearance and AODA-compliant street furniture. A checklist for recording each stop follows.

What it covers

  • Landing pad cross slope is no more than 2%
  • Street furniture uses AODA-compliant designs
  • Checklist for Determining if a Transit Stop is Accessible or Not
Check this against the municipality before you rely on it.

DocHub collects what a municipality published; it cannot tell you what is in force today. A newer version may exist, may be titled differently, or may not be posted publicly at all.
