Overview

The City of Hamilton's urban design principles and guidelines for the special character areas of the Fruitland-Winona Secondary Plan, prepared by Community Planning in 2013 as a companion to that plan. It sets out the community vision and design principles, then guidelines with precedent images for gateways, the Community Campus Node, the Winona Local Commercial Main Street, the Barton Street pedestrian promenade and built form, the Jones Road neighbourhood trail, the Highway No. 8 character road, residential intersections and a multi-modal transportation terminal, ending with how the guidelines are implemented.
