Overview

The City of Hamilton's Barrier-Free Design Guidelines, version 1.1 of 2006, prepared for Public Works by R. F. Lintack Architect with the Advisory Committee for Persons with Disabilities, revising the City's 1994 Barrier-Free Design Standards. A 233-page manual for City-owned, leased or operated facilities, parks and infrastructure, it covers universal design principles, scope and definitions, then physical accessibility from ramps, doors and elevators to washrooms and amenities, visual and audible accessibility, and special facilities from arenas and pools to transit facilities.
