Overview

Hamilton's Development Application Guidelines for a Wildland Fire Assessment, which determines whether hazardous forest types with elevated wildland fire risk are present near development in or next to forested areas, in a February 20, 2026 edition and an October 2022 edition issued as Appendix "B42" to Report PED22112(d). It ties the assessment to Policy 5.2.9 of the Provincial Planning Statement (2024), names experts in fields such as forest fire ecology or forestry as preparers, and points to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry's reference manual and hazard mapping.
