The City of Richmond Hill's pilot policy, effective March 27, 2024, deferring City-wide development charges for office buildings of at least four storeys and 50,000 square feet in the Richmond Hill Centre, along Yonge Street from Highway 7 to Major Mackenzie. A table sets deferrals of 5, 10, 15 or 20 years by gross floor area, and the program is capped at 1.5 million square feet. It also covers trigger events, interest waiver, security, fees and mixed-use buildings. It is distinct from the City-wide office deferral policy.
