Overview

The City of Hamilton's Municipal Addressing Policy, Appendix "B" to Report PED25077, updated March 2025, which Planning and Economic Development staff follow in assigning and changing municipal address numbers and unit numbers. It sets King and James Streets as the directional starting point, then covers odd and even sides, a 6m numbering interval, cul-de-sacs, alphanumeric numbers and corner lots. Further sections give numbering by development form, the rural area's 911 rural numbering and Farm 911 signs, and address change requests.
