Overview

The City of Mississauga's Erosion and Sediment Control By-law 0512-1991, passed in October 1991 under the Topsoil Preservation Act and amended by By-law 0394-1993. It regulates topsoil removal, with exemptions for land under one hectare that is not next to a body of water, and sets out the Erosion and Sediment Control Permit: the application, the items an Erosion and Sediment Control Plan shows, engineer certification, a 180-day term and inspections. Its schedules give permit fees and letters of credit, site design guidelines, and permit conditions.

What it covers

  • Erosion and Sediment Permit Fees
  • Letter of Credit for Site Control Measures
  • Site Design Guidelines
  • Site Dewatering
  • Drain Inlet Protection
  • Site Erosion Control
