Overview

City of Mississauga By-law 0046-2022, the Storm Sewer Use By-law, passed in March 2022 and replacing By-law 0259-2005. It regulates what may enter the City's storm sewer system: connections, maintenance and disconnection, discharge limits, dilution, stormwater drainage, and oil, grease and sediment. Part 4 covers authorized discharges by permit, the route behind Mississauga's temporary discharge approvals, followed by monitoring, spills, pollution prevention planning, and administration, fees, inspections, orders and penalties. Schedule A tabulates discharge limits for conventional, inorganic and organic parameters; Schedule B lists pollution prevention plan content.
