Overview

The former Town of Markham's Conveyance of Parkland By-law, By-law No. 195-90, passed August 30, 1990 under Section 42 of the Planning Act and consolidated to 5 August, 2003 with its amendment by By-law No. 74-94. It provides for parkland as a condition of development or redevelopment: 2% of commercial or industrial land, 5% otherwise, or one hectare per 300 dwellings, or payment in lieu valued the day before the first building permit. The Building Permit Process page links it beside the words Park Dedication By-Law (By-Law 2025-101).
