The Town of Markham's Deck By-law, By-law 142-95, which repeals the earlier deck by-law, 166-90. It defines a deck by its height above the lowest ground surface around the platform and sets rear and side yard setbacks that vary with that height, with separate provisions on steps. It amends a long list of older zoning by-laws named by number, among them By-law 19-94. An explanatory note gives its purpose as design flexibility while limiting decks likely to impose on neighbours' privacy.
DocHub collects what a municipality published; it cannot tell you what is in force today. A newer version may exist, may be titled differently, or may not be posted publicly at all.
