Overview

A one-page Town of Markham Building Department information sheet restating Section 5.3 of zoning By-law 177-96, the deck rules for the area that by-law defines; Markham's by-laws page points to it for urban expansion areas. It sets rear yard deck setbacks in two height bands, 0.6 to 1.0 metre and over 1.0 metre above the lowest ground surface, limits deck floor height to the ground floor of the main building, exempts access stairs from the setbacks, and quotes the by-law's definitions of deck and rear yard.
