The Town of Markham's By-law 53-94, passed to permit home occupations in residential zones and to regulate their size and nature. It defines a home occupation as a secondary use of a dwelling by a resident, sets a cap of 25% of combined floor area and limits on employees, parking, signage and exterior storage, and lists business types excluded from the definition, among them motor vehicle repair garages, kennels and adult entertainment parlours. The by-law amends By-law 19-94, the Buttonville Core Area By-law, along with a long list of older area-specific zoning by-laws it names by number.

Check this against the municipality before you rely on it. DocHub collects what a municipality published; it cannot tell you what is in force today. A newer version may exist, may be titled differently, or may not be posted publicly at all.
