Overview

The Province of Ontario's Greenbelt Plan (2017), dated May 2017 and approved by Order in Council No 1025/2017 under the Greenbelt Act, 2005, effective July 1, 2017. It sets policies for the Protected Countryside — the agricultural system, the natural system, parkland, open space and trails, and settlement areas — with general policies on non-agricultural uses, infrastructure, natural and cultural heritage resources, existing uses and lot creation, then implementation, Urban River Valley policies, definitions and schedules. Whitchurch-Stouffville lists it among its planning guidelines, beside the Oak Ridges Moraine Conservation Plan.
