Overview

City of Mississauga By-law 0114-2016, the Second Units Registration By-law, passed in June 2016 to replace licensing of second units with registration; its short-title clause calls it the Registration of Second Units By-law. It defines a second unit as an accessory dwelling unit in a detached, semi-detached or row house, and covers registration by the City's Director of Building, the application and its review against the Building, Fire and Electrical Safety codes and Zoning By-law 225-2007, refusal, revocation, inspections, orders and fines. Units licensed under By-law 204-13 carried over.
