Overview

The City of Markham's Bird-Friendly Specification Checklist for Site Plan Approval, updated June 2026, one of three checklists implementing the Bird-Friendly Guidelines Council approved on February 11, 2014 and updated in 2026, beside those for draft plans of subdivision and major heritage permits. It has two parts: a Building checklist for the elevation drawings, recording the treatment zone, visual markers on glass, external coverings and non-vision glazing, and a Lighting checklist for the landscape plans on downlit, dark-sky lighting.
