Overview

The City of Markham's Cultural Heritage Impact Assessment Terms of Reference, June 2023, developed jointly by York Region and its municipalities and listed on the Guidelines and Terms of Reference page. It explains how an assessment determines whether built heritage or cultural heritage landscapes on or next to a site may be affected by development, who prepares it, and its contents: heritage context, research and analysis, a statement of cultural heritage value or interest, existing conditions, policy, impacts on heritage attributes, and mitigation and conservation strategies, with reference guidelines.
