Overview

The City of Markham's Community Design Plan Terms of Reference, February 2023, listed on the Guidelines and Terms of Reference page. A Community Design Plan answers the urban design policies of Section 6.1 of the Official Plan and an area's secondary plan, mostly for greenfield communities. The terms explain when one applies, who prepares it, and what it addresses: the public realm, streets and blocks, streetscapes, landmarks and views, parks, public art, built form and site development, and sustainable development, with a sample table of contents in Appendix A.
