Overview

A five-page building guide from the City of Kitchener on permanently fixed objects, such as air conditioners, windowsills and surface mounted electrical boxes, placed next to a required guard. It gives the Ontario Building Code background on guard climbability between 140 mm and 900 mm, four design options with diagrams, notes, and an excerpt of Appendix Note A-9.8.8.6.(1) from the 2020 National Building Code of Canada. It is one of the Building Division's standard guides.
