Overview

The City of Brampton's Terms of Reference: Heritage Commemoration Plan, approved by Municipal Council on December 6, 2023 through Resolution Number C299-2023. An HCOMP sets out commemoration and interpretation approaches for a heritage property being altered or removed, or where a commemorative installation is proposed. It lists forms commemoration can take, from plaques and murals to street naming and ruinification, recommends at least three options weighed by pros and cons with cost estimates, and covers themes, consultation with the Brampton Heritage Board and Historical Society, and implementation.
