A one-page information sheet the City of Mississauga publishes on its when-a-building-permit page, reprinting Ontario Building Code article 1.3.1.4 in full. It lists the changes of use the Code treats as an increase in hazard for the purposes of section 10 of the Act: a change of major occupancy designated with a Y in Table 1.3.1.4., a Group C suite converted into more than one Group C suite, conversion to gaming premises, a farm building changed to a major occupancy, a change to a post-disaster building or a retirement home, and an undeterminable previous occupancy. Two exemptions follow.
