The City of Mississauga's urban design guidelines for the stretch of Mississauga Road recognised in the official plan as a scenic route, an important arterial road and a cultural landscape feature. They apply from the Canadian Pacific Railway in Streetsville to Lakeshore Road West. After the character description and official plan policies 9.3.3.11 and 9.3.3.12, sixteen design principles cover 40 m detached lots, direct vehicular access, upgraded building elevations, buffer roads, street pavement width, projecting garages, on-site turn-arounds, tree preservation, utilities, grading and the lands north of Melody Drive.
