The preamble to Mississauga Zoning By-law 0225-2007, which says of itself that it does not form part of the by-law. Six pages explain the by-law's authority under the Planning Act, its thirteen parts, and the part-section-subsection-article-sentence-clause numbering. It then defines the vocabulary the rest of the by-law assumes: base zone, exception zone, exception zone schedule, zone category general provisions, holding symbols, the greenlands overlay, and how a table's columns, lines and cells are read. A closing walkthrough shows how a property's zoning is looked up.
