A two-page worked example the City of Mississauga publishes among its building documents and forms, showing how the two methods in OBC Division B, sentences 9.10.15.4 (1) and (2) give different results for the same house. Method 1 takes one exposed building face of 30 sqm at a 2 m limiting distance for 3.6 sqm of glazing; Method 2 splits the same face into three wall areas at 2 m, 3 m and 2.5 m for a 5.55 sqm total. Each page carries the city's Ontario Building Code disclaimer.
