By-law No. 15-125 of the City of Hamilton, which its own final part says may be referred to as the Hamilton Public Tree Protection By-law. It covers a public tree, defined as one with at least half its trunk diameter at ground level on city land, and lists the acts it treats as injury or destruction: pruning, fastening objects, altering soil levels within the drip line, and excavating inside a tree protection zone. It repeals By-law 06-151, the City of Hamilton Public Trees By-law, and scales fines per tree.
