The City of Hamilton's by-law regulating enclosures for privately-owned outdoor pools, which its own closing section says may be referred to as the pool enclosure by-law. Passed under the Municipal Act, 2001, it replaces By-law No. 03-125 and came into force January 1, 2017. It defines a pool by depth and setting, covers the permit process and inspections, and sets enclosure height and openings, self-closing and self-latching gates, chain link, vertical board and wrought iron fences, walls, above-ground pools, hot tubs and temporary enclosures. By-law 22-059 amends it.
