The Low Density Residential – Large Lot (R2) zone of the City of Hamilton's zoning by-law, section 15.3. Its explanatory note describes lots predominantly larger than those in the R1 zone and often on roads with a rural cross section. The permitted uses match the other low density zones; the numbers do not. A single detached lot takes 630 square metres and 18 metres of width, side setbacks are 2.0 rather than 1.2 metres, lot coverage is capped at 35% and the landscaped area minimum reaches 40%.
