The deciduous half of the City of Hamilton's pair of Site Plan Guidelines planting details, and the sheet its tree pit and coniferous details point to for general standards. A dimensioned section shows a staked deciduous tree over undisturbed subgrade, with wire basket and burlap removal, shredded bark mulch, an edge between pit and sod, and a backfill soil mix. A planting depth note covers heavy clay and poorly drained soils, and twelve numbered points address handling, abrasions, pruning, support and maintenance during the guarantee period.
