City of Hamilton By-law No. 20-077, whose short title is the public nuisance by-law, replacing By-law No. 09-110 and amending By-law No. 17-225 on administrative penalties. Council's recitals name three nuisances: urinating or defecating in public places, knocking over mailboxes, relay boxes, newspaper boxes and other waste containers on highways, and odours and lighting from the cultivation of cannabis plants. Its cannabis sections deal with exterior window coverings and light escape, and a penalty table sets administrative penalties for each contravention.
