City of Hamilton By-law No. 17-127, cited in its own short title as the vacant building registry by-law and replacing By-law No. 10-260. It defines a vacant building, excluding city-owned buildings and some seasonal occupancy, and sets registration with the director within 30 days, annual expiry, renewal and revocation. Its regulations cover a retro-reflective information sign readable from each adjacent street, monitoring visits at least once every two weeks, and condition reports. Its recitals place it alongside Hamilton's property standards, yard maintenance and vital services by-laws.
