A Site Plan Guidelines detail sheet from the City of Hamilton showing two dimensioned sections through a street tree pit: an open pit, and one covered by a 1500 x 1500 pre-cast concrete tree grate with a pea gravel bed over the soil mix. Callouts label mulch, the tree opening, burlap and wire-cage removal, loosened subsoil, imported topsoil, and a perforated drain pipe in clear stone. Three cover options are lettered A to C, and the sheet points to Hamilton's deciduous tree detail for general planting standards.
