Overview
Markham's Builder Tip Issue No. 37, dated January 1, 2025 and updated to the 2024 Ontario Building Code, on garage walls close to a property line; one of the City's housing tips. It quotes Article 9.10.3.1. on determining ratings by Part 3 tests or Supplementary Standards SB-2 and SB-3, and Sentences 9.10.15.5.(1) and (1.1) on exposing building faces at limiting distances under 1.2 m and 0.6 m. The Objective explains containing fire to the building of origin and illustrates SB-3 wall type W1e with a 45 minute rated header.
