Overview

Builder Tip Issue No. 29 from the City of Markham Building Standards Department, a three-page tip dated January 1, 2025 and updated to the 2024 Ontario Building Code, one of the City's housing tips. It quotes Article 7.4.7.1. on cleanouts over running traps and an NPS 4 cleanout where the building drain leaves the building, Article 7.4.7.4. on 45° bends, and Article 7.2.5.11. listing the ABS, PVC and CPVC pipe standards. The Objective explains the sewer gas risk of a poorly installed cleanout and illustrates a screw-cover arrangement.
