Overview

Builder Tip No. 52 of the City of Markham, dated January 1, 2025, one of the City's housing tips for permits under the 2024 Ontario Building Code. It quotes Articles 9.3.1.1., 9.3.1.2. and 9.3.1.7. on R class concrete under CSA A23.1, cement under CAN/CSA A3001, and the maximum water-to-cementing-materials ratios of 0.45, 0.65 and 0.70 for garage floors, interior floors and other uses. Its objective notes that this ratio replaced the slump test and that inspectors may ask for a batch card or third-party test.
