Overview

The City of Markham's information sheet on the building sanitary and storm drain and sewer inspection, a distinct plumbing-trade inspection from Markham's plumbing rough-in and plumbing final information sheets. It explains that drains and sewers are inspected to ensure proper operation and prevent cross-connection between storm and sanitary drains, and notes Markham's engineering design standards on colour coding storm and sanitary pipe. A provincially qualified building inspector reviews materials and equipment, piping, testing, traps, cleanouts, slope and length of drainage pipe, and vent pipes.
