Overview

The City of Markham's Builder Tip No. 56, dated January 1, 2025, on stair landings in dwellings, listed with the City's housing tips under the 2024 Ontario Building Code. It quotes Article 9.8.6.2., Required Landings, at flights of stairs, ramps and doorways, with the exceptions for doors swinging away from a stair, secondary entrances with up to 3 risers, and the bottom of exterior stairs. Its commentary walks through three plans: a stair in an attached garage, an exterior secondary stair, and a clear 900 mm at the bottom.
