One of the City of Markham's series of residential building-inspection information sheets, written for homeowners and builders. It explains that the air barrier inspection confirms the air barrier materials form a system controlling air infiltration and exfiltration through the building envelope, a continuous barrier to air leakage, and that it is requested before interior finishes or cladding cover the barrier. A provincially qualified building inspector checks the properties and continuity of the air barrier system, and the reverse side carries a checklist of common Ontario Building Code deficiencies.
