Overview

Markham's Builder Tip Issue No. 2, dated January 1, 2025 and updated to the 2024 Ontario Building Code, one of the City Building Standards Department's tips for housing permits. It quotes Article 9.13.2.5., Moisture Protection for Interior Finishes, on protecting the interior face of below-grade foundation walls behind insulation, finishes or wood framing, and the limits on membranes and coatings above ground level. The Objective adds advice on concrete curing time and building paper as a moisture barrier, left off the wall above grade so it can breathe.
