Overview

The City of Markham's Builder Tip No. 67, dated January 1, 2025, on silencing fire alarm sounders inside condominium and rental suites, one of the City's non-housing tips under the 2024 Ontario Building Code and a companion to its wiring tip. It quotes Sentences 3.2.4.18.(8), (12) and (13) on manual silencing for up to 10 min, automatic signal silence after 60 s outside the zone of initiation, and 2-stage systems. Its objective describes two options, silencing switches 1200 mm to 1400 mm above the floor, and hotel suites.
