The City of Markham's information sheet on the insulation inspection, requested prior to covering the work with interior finishes, with framing, heating and plumbing rough-in deficiencies also reviewed at the same visit. It explains that insulation is inspected to confirm sufficient coverage against condensation within the building envelope and compliance with energy conservation standards. A provincially qualified building inspector reviews the location of insulation, minimum thermal resistance, installation of insulation and vapour barriers, matched by a reverse-side deficiency checklist.
