Overview

Markham's Builder Tip Issue No. 41, dated January 1, 2025 and updated to the 2024 Ontario Building Code, on connecting water treatment devices such as back-wash filters; one of the City's housing tips. It quotes Sentence 7.6.2.1.(1) on keeping non-potable water out of potable systems and Clause 7.4.2.1.(1)(e), which lists the devices, among them water treatment devices, connected indirectly to a drainage system. The Objective concerns back-wash filters approved by a recognized agency, and the tip illustrates acceptable ways to connect the filter's drain pipe to the house drainage system.

What it covers

  • 7.6.2.1. Connection of Systems
  • 7.4.2.1. Connections to Sanitary Drainage Systems
