Overview

Markham's five-page Builder Tip No. 89, dated January 1, 2025 and updated to the 2024 OBC, on fire alarm sequencing in complexes with more than one tower, filed with the City's non-housing tips under the 2024 Ontario Building Code. It quotes Articles 3.2.4.3. and 3.2.4.4. on single-stage and 2-stage systems. Its objective treats modified systems as an alternative solution under Division C, Part 2, alerting shared parking and amenities, and voice announcements, then gives a sequence chart for two towers with signaling, elevator recall and fan functions.
